Very good question, I one of those people who says if you are not happy with something don’t moan try and do something about it so I was challenged to live up to that and so consequently here I am.
I also believe in helping people and to do that you need a platform and being a councillor does, sometimes, allow you to help people.
To make a difference. To be elected to represent other peoples’ views is an enormous privilege which shouldn’t be dismissed lightly. I am fortunate that I also love the role which is always different, always varied and interesting and always challenging. The day something stops being challenging is the day to move on, in my book.
It’s a real opportunity to try to influence the local area, and to try to make sure it stays a thriving community. I love the place I live in, and want to see it continue to be a good place to live. On the wider front, it’s a big responsibility to be involved in taking decisions that affect the lives of people throughout the County. And I suppose I’m nosey and bossy, so I like to know what is going on and what people think; that all helps in knowing what we need to do to provide what people need.
