I particularly enjoy the opportunity to help individual people or families to resolve problems, but more generally, it is being able to play a part in making decisions that, hopefully, will improve local communities. It’s a big responsibility, that I take very seriously. And of course, I loved every minute of my particular responsibility for Children’s Services. Young people are the future of our community and our country, and it is a very exciting area to be involved in.

Being able to interact with people across Buckinghamshire, to be able to help others that need help to listen to new, old and good ideas and implement where I can. R

The feeling that you’re helping someone and making a difference. I’d hate to just turn up at my job everyday and not feel like I was helping make a difference for people, in whatever small way.

Occasionally the system works against you (with endless hours of meetings) but it’s a great feeling when you achieve something for someone.
