Me and my council work

Hi I look forward to what challenges are going to come way as a County Councillor, District Councillor and Parish Councillor, during the course of the day.

Every morning I get up and feed the horses, and then proceed into the office to check my computer for emails and action the emails, I then more often than not have to attend a meeting based on local issues, which can range from buses in rural areas which is a must in my opionion to country park issues to Highway problems mainly potholes. I also run a small company and attend to day to day matters, I return back home feed the family and more often than not go back out to an evening meeting.

My Typical Day

Get up feeling that I need more sleep

My day starts far to early, 6am start, where I step out of the back door and walk over to the stables and say good morning to our horses, I feed them and rug them and turn the out in the field. My daughter is very lucky to have horses and so am I. I do not have to do the school run any more as both of my children drive and get themselves off to college. I make a few phone calls send some emails and then get ready to go to the County Council if I have a meeting booked or go to the office and sort out the paper work. There is never nothing to do. During the course of the day, I fit in the washing, ironing, housework, walk the dogs, and sometimes manage to cut the grass.

What I'd do as "Youth Champion"

The youth are our future we need to listen and learn from them.

Give as much as I can to those that are positive and motivated in life, listen and learn about their problems and help them deal with them, give the youth the opportunity to be involved in local issues that concern and affect them.

Be proud and feel very honoured

Tell us a joke.

Best ever blonde Joke…A Blonde calls her boyfriend and says “please come over here and help me. I have a killer Jigsaw puzzle and I cannot figure out how to get started.” Her boyfriend asks “what is it supposed to be when it is finished?” The blonde says “according to the picture on the box it is a rooster.” Her boyfriend decides to go over and help her with the puzzle, so she lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table. He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box then turns to her and says, “first of all, no matter what we do, we are not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster.” He takes her hand and says secondly, “I want you to relax, lets have a nice cup of tea” and then says with a deep sigh “LETS PUT ALL THE CORNFLAKES BACK IN THE BOX.” No offence meant to blondes! – I am one of them.
