There doesn’t seem to be a a “right” answer to your very interesting question. Here in the United Kingdom, 5 years old is when we start school yet in some countries like the Scandanavian countries they start formal school at 6 or 7.
Personally, I believe we are used to the children starting at 5 years old, so unless there is a very good reason to change we should stay with that because a lot factors will be affected if we change.
Remember, how and what the child is taught can change no matter what age they start school.
