Thats a bit of a generalisation isn’t it? ALL politicians boring? Is President Obama boring? Was Winston Churchill boring? Was Ghandi boring?
They may seem boring because they have to deal with very dry subjects but remember someone has to be a politician to represent you when decisons are being made that will affect you and your loved ones lives.
The County Council is in one way or another responsible for your school, the roads you travel on, the buses you catch and so on. While other councils will be responsible for collecting your rubbish, where the future houses are built, where and if you have leisure centre to enjoy and so on.
TV and music are important to me but those “boring” politicians who are councillors voting to close my local park or leisure centre or not maintaining my school or not gritting my roads when it snows is going to affect my life much more directly.I leave you to define “boring”
Probably because they are not talking about issues that matter to you. Try speaking to a politician and telling him or her what is important to you, and asking what they can do to help. Politics is most interesting when it is relevant.
That’s a pretty sweeping generalisation. However, politics is about taking decisions that affect people’s lives, so it’s pretty responsible stuff which we all take very seriously. Most of the political speeches you hear are about these serious decisions, so I can understand that they may sound boring. But if you think about what they are saying and how they affect the lives of you, your family and community, you may find it a bit more interesting. On the other hand, we are all ordinary people, and can really be quite fun once you get to know us.
