Question: Buses take full fares from students 16+. Is it fare for a full time student to pay full fare when the income is very low? If not, what can you offer?
It certainly does seem unfair. The members of the Youth Parliament raised this question some years ago, and I believe there is a scheme for students to travel at reduced rates. To be honest, I’m not sure of the details, but I will try to find out and see how we can get the information out to schools and colleges to pass on to their students. This is a difficult one, when I went to school I had to pay all my own fares. You could apply for EMA at college this would help towards your fares. R
